How much should you spend on an engagement ring?

Do you wear your engagement ring on your wedding day?

You can continue to wear your engagement ring during the wedding ceremony. The wedding ring can be placed above it and then you can swap them around afterwards if you wish. Many remove their engagement ring, however, as it can steal the show from the wedding ring.

Another option is to place your engagement ring on the ring finger of your right hand and then move it back into place after the ceremony. You'll need to test that it fits onto your right ring finger before the big day, as you don't want to have to deal with a stuck ring.

Finally, if neither of the other options works for you, you can leave your ring with a trusted friend or family member. If you leave it with one of your witnesses then they can give it back to you when you're signing the marriage register.

Are your engagement rings made in house?

A lot of jewellers design in one place and manufacture somewhere else, often overseas. We don't import anything and we don't mass produce.

It's also why we can change things, with our tailored rings we can adjust to your needs with a wider band or another stone entirely. We will support you with any requests you have.

How long will my engagement ring take?

Rings ordered directly from our website usually take around two weeks.

Bespoke pieces can take a little longer, depending on exactly what you're looking for. The stone is usually what sets the timeline, so if you want something unusual in shape or size, allow extra time.

Either way, our sales team will keep in regular contact throughout the process, so you'll always know where your ring is up to.

If you're working to a date, a holiday, an anniversary or Christmas, tell us at the start. We'll be straight with you about whether it's achievable, and we'd rather say no than rush it.

Do you offer lab grown diamonds?

Yes. Any of our settings can be made with a lab grown diamond instead of a natural one.

They're chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds, the same material formed in a different place. The practical difference is cost. For the same budget you'll generally get a noticeably larger or higher grade stone.

Neither option is the right answer. Some people want the geology and the rarity, and some would rather put the difference into the size of the stone. Come in and look at both side by side. It's a much easier decision in person than it is online.
