Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Markets

It’s easy to work up an appetite browsing the many delights of Birmingham at Christmas - from the two 30ft Christmas trees to the city’s largest lighting feature, a 3m x 3m illuminated diamond ring, the perfect opportunity for a glittering Christmas selfie!

So why not visit the Frankfurt Christmas markets to try some of the traditional and tasty food on offer, from pretzels and bratwursts to luxurious chocolate crepes, and lots of other tempting treats?

You’ll also find a wide range of handcrafted gifts and decorations, from glass baubles and wooden toys to jewellery and so much more. You’re sure to find the perfect stocking filler here!

Christmas in Cathedral Square, organised by the Birmingham City Council, features a wonderful range of experiences, including music performed by local artists and traditional crafts, ornaments and gifts created by independent businesses from around the Midlands. Not to mention a variety of delicious food and drink available from pop-up vendors.

Inspired by the beloved 2004 motion picture, Vintage Trains are hosting an immersive, theatrical re-creation of the story to surround the whole family in Christmas cheer, all aboard!

Big Wheel & Ice Skate Rink 

Experience the incredible views of Birmingham from the top of the big wheel! From the Library of Birmingham to the Town hall, as well as the shimmering lights of the Christmas Markets.

If you’d prefer to keep your feet on the ground, why not try ice skating? It doesn’t get more festive than that! Birmingham’s ice skating rink has been voted as one of the best, year after year and is an exhilarating activity for the whole family.

Luminate Winter Lights Trail

As dark winter evenings set in, why not wrap up and experience the Luminate Winter Lights Trail? A mile-long light trail woven through the historical grounds of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Experience the enchanting light displays and music.
